COVINGTON, KY (BRAIN)—Specialty Bike Expo, a new trade show set to take place Nov. 30 to Dec. 3 at the Northern Kentucky Convention Center, has been tabled. Organizer Jim Keefe said that while a good number of retailers and suppliers signed up to exhibit or attend, it wasn’t enough to make it a worthwhile event.

NEW YORK, NY (BRAIN)—Manhattan Media's bike-tastic event, The New Amsterdam Bicycle Show: Benefiting Transportation Alternatives, is returning for 2012.

It will be held at the famous Tent at Lincoln Center in Damrosch Park in Manhattan, April 28 and 29 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day.

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CA (BRAIN)—Preliminary attendance numbers for Interbike 2011 showed nearly 4,000 unique stores represented at the show and the total number of buyers at more than 11,000.

International buyer attendance from outside the United States was more than 1,300.

LAS VEGAS, NV (BRAIN)—The Light Electric Vehicle Association (LEVA) saw a much bigger crowd this year. This was largely due to the test track being almost four times larger, which accommodated more than 600 riders—a 50 percent increase over last year.
