COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (BRAIN) – USA Triathlon recently welcomed three new members to its board of directors. Staci Brode, Ben Collins and Joel Rosinbum recently began serving on the 12-member board.
"As we enter 2015, USA Triathlon faces significant opportunities with our constituents, events and programming. Staci, Ben and Joel bring new and diverse voices to the board, the leadership of our organization, which will undoubtedly contribute greatly to the success and growth of our Federation and our sport," said Barry Siff, president of USAT's board. "I am extremely excited to welcome these three excellent, capable individuals to the USA Triathlon board of directors."
Based in Dallas, Brode was voted by the south Midwest region membership base to fill a vacant board seat. Brode is a USAT-certified triathlon coach and race director and serves as president of Dallas retailer Playtri where she oversees race direction and general operations.
As the first paratriathlete to join the USAT board, Rosinbum will serve a two-year term as an elite/pro athlete representative. He was appointed by the USAT athletes' advisory council, and has represented the U.S. at a number of international events. Based in Austin, Tex., Rosinbum competed in triathlon prior to a 2007 ski accident that paralyzed his right arm, and has remained committed to the sport since. He hopes to secure a place on the U.S. Paralympic Triathlon team in time for the first paralympic games in Rio de Janeiro in 2016.
Collins will also serve a two-year term as an elite/pro athlete representative appointed by the USAT athletes' advisory council. Since 2008, Collins has logged nearly a dozen top-10 finishes in ITU draft-legal events. He's also picked up several wins at non-drafting events, including a win at the Toyota Triple Crown Championships, and has served as a sighted guide for visually impaired triathletes.
