OLATHE, Kan. (BRAIN) — Garmin International on Wednesday announced two new GPS bike computer models that are the brand's smallest yet. The company claims the new Edge 20 and Edge 25 are the smallest GPS bike computers on the market.
The pricing is also small (comparatively): $129.99 and $169.99, respectively. The Edge 25 is also be available in a cadence bundle for $199.99.
"Real estate on your bike is limited – the Edge 20 and Edge 25 are the quintessential bike computers for cyclists wanting to save space without losing valuable features," said Dan Bartel, Garmin vice president of worldwide sales. "The Edge 20 and Edge 25 allow cyclists to track essential stats like time, distance, speed, ascent and location in a small but powerful device."
Each model weight 25 grams and is water resistant, with GPS and GLONASS to acquire satellites quickly. Battery life is said to be 8 hours.
The Edge 25 is ANT+ compatible and can be paired with a heart rate monitor, cadence sensor and speed sensor. It can be paired with compatible Bluetooth devices, such as smart phones, to instantly upload data to Garmin Connect, including real-time Live Tracking to allow family and friends to follow along. Garmin Connect users can also download courses and follow them on the device, receiving turn indications throughout a ride, and compete against other cyclists on previously ridden courses. Edge 20 users can upload to Garmin Connect and download courses and segments via a PC or Mac.
