Published April 23, 2015

HELSINKI (BRAIN) — Mavic sales in the first quarter of 2015 were about flat compared with last year, the brand's parent company, Amer Sports Corp., announced Thursday.

Mavic's first-quarter sales total was 40.4 million euros ($43.7 million), up 4 percent over the same period last year in euros, but up just 1 percent in local currencies.

Finland-based Amer announced that companywide net sales in the first quarter were up 5 percent, to 575 million euros. The company said the sales increase was driven particularly by the apparel and footwear divisions. Besides Mavic, Amer owns Arc'teryx, Salomon and Bonfire, which each have considerable clothing and footwear sales in the outdoor market.

Amer completed its purchase of Louisville Slugger on Wednesday, its first major acquisition since 2005, when it bought Salomon, Mavic and Arc'teryx from Adidas.
