SUZHOU, China (BRAIN) — Bafang, one of the world's largest e-bike drive system manufacturers, has announced that it is extending delivery lead times by at least 10-15 days because of the coronavirus outbreak.

TAIPEI, Taiwan (BRAIN) — Next month's Taipei Cycle Show will be held as scheduled, organizers announced, but visitors and exhibitors from mainland China will not be welcome. Organizers also said all workers at the show will be required to wear face masks.

MILTON KEYNES, United Kingdom (BRAIN) —The U.S. industry, which depends on China for about 95% of its bikes as well as many of its parts and accessories, is bracing for disruption due to the Coronavirus. The virus has sickened thousands in China and led to travel restrictions into and out of the country, as well as within it.

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (BRAIN) — The Big Gear Show, a new outdoor industry trade show announced last week, has hired former Interbike show director Lance Camisasca as the director of its bike show.

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (BRAIN) — A group with a background organizing a paddlesports trade show has announced an outdoor industry trade show for next July that will include bike exhibitors and has been endorsed by the National Bicycle Dealers Association.

CHICAGO (BRAIN) — CABDA has postponed a trade/consumer demo event it had planned to hold in the Denver area this fall, due to venue logistics. Jim Kersten, CABDA's show director, said he plans to go forward with a Denver event in the future.

IRVINE, Calif. (BRAIN) — The 2019 American International Motorcycle Expo, the largest motorcycle trade and consumer show, will include an e-bike pavilion sponsored by Cycle Volta, a new e-bike media title. Cycle Volta is producing the pavilion in cooperation with the Motorcycle Industry Council.

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, Calif. (BRAIN) — Outdoor Retailer will be looking to sell space to bike industry brands at its show in Denver this November. Outdoor Retailer is owned by Emerald Expositions, the owner of Interbike, which announced in December that it was canceling its 2019 show.

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, Calif. (BRAIN) — Outdoor Retailer said that all three of its shows in 2019 will be three days long. OR's Summer Market in June and Winter Market in November will be shortened from the original four-day plans. January's Snow Show remains three days as scheduled.

PHILADELPHIA (BRAIN) — As of Oct. 1, exhibitor registration for the Philly Bike Expo is up 17 percent, and the annual trade and consumer festival has sold 250 percent more tickets than at the same time last year as this year's edition approaches on Oct. 27 and 28.
