Spinlister expands its bike-shop program with agreement with nation's largest bike rental provider.

SAN FRANCISCO (BRAIN) — Spinlister, which began as an online peer-to-peer bike rental platform (something like Airbnb for bikes) has signed a long-term agreement with Blazing Saddles, which may be the country's largest bike rental operation.

LAKE OSWEGO, Ore. (BRAIN) — Yakima has announced its 2017 schedule for its RackDawg retail technical program. The program, which the company has run since the 1990s, is designed to bring retail sales staff up to date on Yakima products.

LONDON (BRAIN) — Rapha is planning a traveling series of weekend rides and events in 20 cities this year, starting in May in Boulder, Colorado.

LAS VEGAS (BRAIN) — Performance Bicycle is making increased use of IBM's Watson Customer Engagement services, which allows the retail chain to use consumer data, including browsing history on the Performance website, to tailor its sales and marketing approaches, online and offline.

TUCSON, Ariz. (BRAIN) — Ben Chandler has recently celebrated the grand reopening of his Ben's Bike store on South Houghton Road here. Chandler first opened his business in 2011 and decided late last year to partner with Giant's Retail Services Team to redesign and enhance the store's look and feel.

SAN FRANCISCO (BRAIN) — Retailer Summit Bicycles, with five brick-and-mortar stores in the Bay Area and Silicon Valley, has signed on to Beeline Bikes’ Retail Partner Program to launch a fleet of seven mobile bike shops serving customers from San Francisco to Santa Cruz, California.

CARY, N.C. (BRAIN) — Retailer Matt Lodder operated a small home-based shop offering mobile repair services for eight years, and as his business grew he realized he needed a larger space. Lodder recently moved his repair and bike fit operation into a 1,400-square-foot space here.

COSTA MESA, Calif. (BRAIN) — The National Bicycle Dealers Association is making individual memberships available for the first time in the association's 70-year history. The program will launch this weekend at QBP's Frostbike event.
