OLNEY, Ill. (BRAIN) — Magura USA is offering free online tech training for dealer mechanics as well as OE brands and distributors. For shops, the training can lead to stores being labeled as Magura Service Centers, which are promoted on the brand’s dealer locator.

BROOMFIELD, Colo. (BRAIN) — Quality Bicycle Products has closed its bicycle mechanics school, U of Q, which was previously known as Barnett Bicycle Institute. The Minneapolis-based distributor said its projections pointed toward a decline in enrollment.

The PBMA will present results from the survey at next month's CABDA East event at the Meadowlands in New Jersey.

The class is hosted by the Professional Bicycle Mechanic Association and is held at USA Cycling's headquarters.

The former America's Best Bike Shops program becomes the Bicycle Retailer Excellence Awards as barriers to participation are reduced.

IRVINE, Calif. (BRAIN) — The National Bicycle Dealers Association has overhauled its retailer award program, formerly called America's Best Bike Shops. The new program is called the Bicycle Retailer Excellence Awards. It continues the ABBS program's use of the application program as a learning tool for retailers.

BENTONVILLE, Ark. (BRAIN) — The Walton Family Charitable Support Foundation has made a $1 million-plus grant to a community college here, allowing the school to launch an accredited two-semester Bicycle Assembly and Repair Technician program, with classes planned for the fall 2021 semester.
