WILMINGTON, Del. (BRAIN) — John Strojny, who has operated three New Balance athletic footwear stores for 20 years, purchased an existing Delaware shop, Brandywine Cyclery, and recently reopened it as a Giant Partner Store under the new name of Brandywine Bikes.

Sanborn bought Bicycle Outfitters in Seminole and reopened it David’s World Cycle.

ORLANDO, Fla. (BRAIN) — David Sanborn opened his first shop, which is still housed in the same location in Orlando's College Park neighborhood, in 1989.

WEAVERVILLE, N.C. (BRAIN) — The Mann Group, a retail sales and management training firm specializing in bike, outdoor, running, ski, flyfishing and photography, is providing its GEAR bike training online. The company has teamed up with Myagi, an online training website.

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (BRAIN) — Barmer Enterprises, which owns the eight-location Bike America retail chain in Florida, has filed for Chapter 11 reorganization, telling the court it had at least $5 million in debt. 

VANCOUVER, British Columbia (BRAIN) — Velofix has now sold 104 mobile service franchise territories in North America, putting it just shy of Performance Bicycles' 106 shop total for the highest number of bike shops under the same name here.

LEWISBURG, Pa. (BRAIN) – Earl’s Bicycle Store, which is located in Central Pennsylvania, has co-branded with Giant and reopened as Giant Lewisburg-Earl’s Bicycle Store following a complete remodel. Owners Earl and Lisa Rissler joined forces with Giant after carrying the brand for 11 years. 

PALISADE, Colo. (BRAIN) — BRAIN's Dealer Tour braved rain and even a bit of snow pedaling the small town of Palisade on Thursday. While Palisade is known now for its wineries and peaches, some local retailers are working to build a new trail that might put it on the map of major mountain bike destinations.
