MONROEVILLE, Pa. (BRAIN) — Pro Bike + Run’s Monroeville location will reopen next weekend, six months after a four-alarm fire destroyed its former location and entire inventory.
The new store is down the road at 4201 William Penn Highway, in a former Pier 1 Imports location. According to Pro Bike + Run, which has four locations in the Pittsburgh area, the store will feature an open-design layout that has been used by retailers like Apple, Coach, and Lululemon Athletica.
The grand opening celebration will take place on Dec. 10-12 with group rides and runs, food, giveaways, prize drawings, and test rides, including its large selection of e-bikes that the location will feature.
“The industry is being transformed by amazing e-bike designs, and we wanted to create a new in-store experience to reflect the new technology and amazing power electric bikes bring to your ride,” said Jordan Cherry, general manager. “E-bikes are game-changers: It’s you, just faster and further.”
No employees nor customers were injured in the May 25 fire, which began in a utility closet. More than 300 bikes, hundreds of running shoes, accessories, and apparel, were destroyed.
“We see all of our properties as an integral part of the communities they serve, and this is an opportunity to innovate a good old-fashioned customer-service focused business with a fresh approach,” said Craig Cozza, Pro Bike + Run founder. “Celebrating the spirit of this awesome community and the people who have supported us throughout the years. We have an amazing team that loves to share our passion for fitness — mind, body, and spirit. And they’ve been chomping at the bit to get back up and running, supporting our community through all we do. We’re so excited to be back and we’ll be better than ever with even more amazing brand partners and a fresh new store for the community we love.”
