VANCOUVER, British Columbia (BRAIN)—Race Face Performance Products has launched a 'For Her' women's line as part of its 2009 Spring/Summer collection.
This women's-specific line, a close collaboration between Race Face designers and female riders, is designed to reflect her passion for style and love of riding. The collection addresses the need for technical performance garments and protection that can stand up to punishing rides while maintaining a sleek and flattering fit on the active woman.
"This is an exciting time in Race Face apparel, a chance for us to give props to the fearless, adventurous women in our sport who thrive on personal challenge,” said Race Face’s soft goods marketing & development manager Wendy Tewnion. “For us, introducing a well-rounded line that included women's specific construction in both the protection and clothing categories was key. The launch of the next generation Race Face protection line was the perfect opportunity to showcase the new DIY women's protection and introduce the women's clothing line.”
Although the women’s line is new for Race Face it is already generating accolades in the mainstream press. Women’s Adventure Magazine recently awarded the Race Face Blossom Jersey 'Editor's Choice Award' in its 2009 gear review.
Race Face is also directly involved in supporting women’s cycling via its sponsorship and collaboration with the Dirt Series Mountain Bike Camps. The focus of the Dirt Series is to develop technical mountain bike skills for women in a safe, progressive, and motivating environment; offering a much needed venue for female riders to learn and progress in. The new DIY Women's Protection will be available to all participants and coaches this season.
"We are so excited to be incorporating the new DIY protection into the camps this year. For years women have been looking for armor that fits them just right, and it's fantastic to be working with a company intent on finally addressing that need," said Candace Shadley, founder of the Dirt Series.
