Custom bar tape brand Zevlin says it's growing

Published April 26, 2017

DALLAS (BRAIN) — Zevlin, a maker of handlebar tape and skincare products, says it has now enjoyed three years of double-digit sales growth.

Owned by brothers Brad and Drew Hagestad, the company has focused on offering custom tape for a variety of clients.

"We've seen shops increasingly come to us for branded tape, as a way to add extra differentiation to the brands they sell that might be available elsewhere in their towns," said Brad Hagestad. "But we also continue to get inquiries from smaller bike companies too, especially framebuilders."

Zevlin also sells custom tape designs to clubs, teams and even groups of friends riding in chariety events together. The company has a 10 roll order minimum and promises a 30-day lead time.

"We work closely with our customers to provide a quick turnaround on artwork proofs, then once we get the approvals done, we complete orders within 30 days," said Drew Hagestad.

The company did not reveal sales dollar amounts, but said growth over prior year has been 14 percent in 2015, 75 percent last year and 49 percent so far this year.
