AUSTIN, Texas (BRAIN) — Members of the Professional Bicycle Mechanics Association will be on hand at this month's North American Handmade Bicycle Show in Utah to help assemble bikes before the show and to meet with the show attendees during the March 10-12 event.
The PBMA will bring top mechanics and tools to help during setup, said James Stanfill, the group's president.
"Being there to help with the little details, even if it's just handing someone the right tool may not be a glorious task but it's a task that is appreciated. As mechanics we want to help, the opportunity to help in this capacity was one we couldn't pass up," he said.
"NAHBS is a coming together of several tribes of very experienced and competent artisans and craftspeople. Building and maintaining these machines is something special for our membership. A real point of pride."
The PBMA will remain on the show floor talking about tools and mechanics for the show attendees and spotlighting products from Park Tool, Pedros, Feedback Sports, Abbey Bike Tools and Prestacycle. PBMA staff will demonstrate the tools using a frame from Boo Bicycles.
PBMA board member and NAHBS frame rider Jeff Rowe said, "When you see the craftsmanship and detail as you walk around the show, you must appreciate how careful the choice of mechanic building up these frames into bicycles must be. The PBMA can assist anyone in finding a qualified mechanic to build and care for their prize possession and maintain a personal riding experience."
