BOULDER, Colo. (BRAIN) — This week's edition of Verde Brand Communications' "Take Me Outdoors" podcast is devoted to the Outdoor REC Act, the legislation recently passed by Congress that would require federal agencies to track the economic impact of the outdoor industry. Colorado's outdoor recreation director, Luis Benitez, joined the podcast to discuss the Act.
Benitez had been a leading force in the Outdoor Industry Association's efforts to push the Outdoor REC Act to President Obama's desk. Benitez discusses what will happen once the act is (or is not) signed by Obama and exactly what this means for the outdoor industry as a whole.
Verde, which has several clients in the bike industry, launched the podcast last month. Kristin Carpenter-Ogden, the founder and CEO of Verde, is the host of the new weekly show, which can be found in the "Outdoor" category of iTunes every Wednesday.
"We love being part of the outdoor community and building the success of the outdoor recreation economy. The 'Take Me Outdoors' podcast enables us to give back and use our agency's reach to create a positive impact for the outdoor communities we serve," Carpenter-Ogden said.
The podcast is available on iTunes.
