Lance Armstrong, Nelson Vails join industry experts speaking at bicycle tourism conference

ANKENY, Iowa (BRAIN) — Retired racers Lance Armstrong and Nelson Vails are among the speakers at next month's National Bicycle Tourism Conference, which is being held near St. Petersburg, Florida.

Bike industry experts, including Dave Edwards, the owner of Primal, and Steve Mathews, the owner of Pace Products/Chamois Butt'r, also will speak at the conference. A newly announced session will look at the success of the Dirty Kanza, a 200-mile gravel race in Kansas.

Armstrong has taken part in several recreational rides, including RAGBRAI and Ride the Rockies. His presention will include a Q&A session with the audience. Vails will talk about his "Ride With Nelly" programs.

The event is Nov. 2-5 at the Sirata Beach Resort in St. Pete Beach.
