Steady growth leads to expansion after 18 years for the company now known as Borah Teamwear

COON VALLEY, Wis. (BRAIN) — Clothing vendor Mt. Borah has renamed itself Borah Teamwear and has broken ground on a 9,000-square-foot expansion to its manufacturing facility, after 18 years in the same location.

Borah will double its production and office space with the addition, company founder and owner Chris Jackson said.

"I am incredibly proud of our past success, which has positioned us for our current expansion and future growth," he said. "There is no way this dream would have been achieved without the hard work and dedication of our current staff. We have, year after year, experienced consistent annual growth by delivering a quality product, on time, manufactured by us. This expansion allows us to pursue our future goals by providing an efficient work space for both our production and office employees, so we could not be more excited!"

Jackson said the new name is a better fit for the company. "We wanted to change the name so that it was more descriptive of what we do. The new logo fits nicely onto our garments and easily identifies Borah as the manufacturer of the apparel," Jackson said.

Jackson also said he hopes the name will end all the questions about where or what Mt. Borah is. But ... BRAIN had to ask one more time. "It is the highest peak in Idaho. (It) goes back to 1997 when I started the company and was spending a lot of time in Idaho skiing and riding," he explained patiently.

With the expansion the facility will include more than 13,000 square feet of production space, and a new office space complete with hand-made Amish furniture from local residents, a coffee bar, and an employee exercise facility.

Jackson said growth has come from each of Borah's custom sports segments, including cycling, running, triathlon, Nordic skiing, alpine skiing, and corporate apparel, plus a newly added retail line. The company designs and manufactures 100 percent of its products at the Coon Valley facility.
