SAN RAFAEL, Calif. (BRAIN) — Raleigh Bicycles is sponsoring the Trips for Kids North American program, and will donate 50 Talus 2.0 and Eva 2.0 mountain bikes to the program.
TFK's programs give underserved youth the opportunity to experience mountain biking while learning life skills and an appreciation of the outdoors. The bikes donated by Raleigh will enable newly formed TFK regional chapters across North America to provide mountain bike outings for low income, at-risk youth in their communities.
"We created the Trips for Kids program model to help individual entrepreneurs, established community organizations, cycling clubs and other organizations streamline the formation of their own regional chapters," said TFK executive director Marilyn Price. "A safe bike fleet is a critical and often costly component of forming a chapter. Thanks to Raleigh we can provide new bicycles as part of the start-up services we offer."
More than 100 industry suppliers supprt Trips for Kids through product donations and financial contributions. They include Adventure Medical Kits, Beeline Bikes, Clif Bar, CST, John Wayne Cancer Foundation, Interbike, New Belgium Brewing Company, Park Tool Company, Plus 3 Network, and Specialized.
