LOS ANGELES, CA — Thieves broke into Currie Technologies' headquarters here sometime Tuesday night and stole about 20 electric bikes, the company said. But the thieves neglected to take batteries for the bikes, so Currie is betting they'll be looking for a charge.
"The bikes were stored without batteries, and the thieves apparently did not steal batteries, so they will, at some point, attempt to purchase batteries through their dealers," the company said in a statement Wednesday. According to the statement, E3 eFlow Nitro and IZIP E3 Zuma models were stolen.
The company, owned by the Accell Group, is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the thieves.
