TORONTO, Canada (BRAIN) — The Bicycle Trade Association of Canada is calling for nominations for its inaugural BTAC Awards. The awards will be presented at the annual ExpoCycle Bike Show in Montréal in September.

The awards will be given in four categories: Independent Bicycle Retailer of the Year, Municipal/Regional Government Award, Contribution by a Political Leader Award and Award for Initiative by Local Cycling Association.

The retailer award recognizes a bicycle retailer that has shown commitment and innovation in encouraging cycling. Eligible nominations are independent bicycle retailers in Canada "who have made a considerable contribution toward encouraging and promoting cycling in the community, being consumer responsive, and by supporting activities in their local area in 2012."
