OAKLAND, CA (BRAIN) — A federal appeals court has affirmed Hydrapak's victory in a patent infringement lawsuit.
Source Vagabond Systems had sued Hydrapak over alleged patent infringement involving the closure system on the brand's water bladders. Vagabond lost the suit in U.S. District Court in April 2012, then appealed to the appellate court, which upheld the lower court's decision.
The appeals court also told the lower court judge to decide on whether Vagabond should pay $187,000 to Hydrapak for a frivolous court filing.
“Once again, the courts have validated the integrity of our work,” said Matt Lyon, Hydrapak's president. “We are thrilled to move forward from this chapter and continue to create superior hydration systems.”
