Bay Area agency adds Bell and Blackburn as clients

SAN RAFAEL, CA (BRAIN) — Former ProTour mechanic and Velo magazine tech editor Nick Legan is joining the Dispach communications agency.

Legan joins the agency that represents clients including Bell, Blackburn, Giant, Michelin and Shimano. He will remain based in Boulder, Colorado, and will continue with The Service Course, the service-only bike shop he co-owns in Boulder.

“Nick’s professionalism, technical expertise and passion for cycling allowed him to earn his way in as a respected cycling journalist and someone who I instantly enjoyed working with,” said Eric Doyne, Dispatch founder. “Knowing and respecting the daily life of journalists is a huge benefit that Nick brings to the table and his technical background is a perfect fit for my clients and the storytelling that we do at Dispatch.”

Before joining Velo, Legan worked as a mechanic with teams like RadioShack, Garmin, CSC and others, wrenching at all three grand tours, the world championships and the 2008 Olympics.

Dispatch began working with Easton-Bell's Bell and Blackburn brands earlier this month.  Bell marketing director Don Palermini said both brands have big plans for the future and Dispatch was hired to get the word out.

"[Both brands have] undergone significant foundational planning over the past year that will result in improved products and programs for dealers and consumers alike,” Palermini said. “As a result we have many stories to tell, and Dispatch is the perfect partner in taking our messages and projecting them outward.”
