VANCOVER, BC (BRAIN) Thursday March 22 2012 12:33 PM MT—The Velo-city Global 2012 conference will be held here from June 26-29.
The event is being billed as the world’s premier international cycling planning conference. The four day event offers delegates from around the world a chance to share best practices for creating and sustaining cycling-friendly cities.
The conference unites politicians, engineers, planners, architects, social marketers, academics, researchers, environmentalists, advocates, educators and industry representatives. The event also draws experts from related areas such as health, economics and the environment.
Velo-city Global 2012 in Vancouver is chaired by bicycle retailer Paul Dragan, and is expected to host over 1,000 delegates from around the world. The conference will be held at the Sheraton Vancouver Wall Center Hotel

Bike Medicine adds five new reps

Teams announced for Exergy Tour
BOISE, ID (BRAIN) Thursday March 22 2012 11:38 AM MT—Organizers have announced the first 11 teams to compete in the inaugural Exergy Tour, a major international womens stage race to be held in Idaho this May. The event will be the highest ranked UCI womens race in North America this year.

Raleigh U.K. team to compete in Tour of the Battenkill
KENT, WA (BRAIN) Thursday March 22 2012 11:42 AM MT—For the first time since its re‐foundation in 2010, Raleigh’s UK-‐based road team will compete in the U.S. The team will race the eighth annual Tour of the Battenkill, April 14-15, in New York. Raleigh also is the official bike supplier to the race.
The Tour of Battenkill bills itself as America's largest one-‐day Pro/Am cycling race. The start and finish are in Cambridge, New York, and the course travels through covered bridges, family farms, and rural villages along challenging backcountry roads.
Team Raleigh will race on the latest of Raleigh America’s carbon racing series, the Militis 3.
Fyxation introduces thin platform pedal with replaceable pins
MILWAUKEE, WI (BRAIN) Thursday March 22 2012 12:50 PM MT—Fyxation has released a new thin-platform pedal with replaceable pins. The company says the Mesa MP caters to a diverse group of riders.
The original Mesa, which is still available and retails for $47.95, is made out of an impact grade nylon body.
The Mesa MP uses the same construction as the original Mesa but now includes replaceable steel pins for added grip and durability. Retail price for the Mesa MP is $59.95. The pedals weigh 351 grams per pair.
