ELKTON, MD (BRAIN)—Gore Ride On Cable Systems has changed its distribution model in the U.S., adding Quality Bicycle Products, Trek, Giant, BTI, Hawley, Security and Downeast as distributors. Previously, the company sold its products directly to dealers via Gore Direct Sales.
“We wanted to be sure that our products were available to all of the best shops in the U.S.,” said Gore’s Lois Mabon. “To accomplish this, we knew we needed to partner with the best distributors to complement the IBD-direct sales service that we provide through Gore Direct.”
Gore also announced revised pricing on its new Ultra Light Sealed Shift System, which was introduced at the fall trade shows. The cables will retail for $65, the same price of its current Sealed Shift System and Professional Shift System, which will drop to $55. Gore said these reductions were made but that dealer and distributor margins will remain the same.
“New technology gains have improved product performance and production refinements have reduced costs,” the company said in a press release.
The new Ultra Light Sealed Shift System, which uses non-ferrous housing materials for weight reduction, improved flexibility and to eliminate corrosion, becomes available in December.
