MUKILTEO, WA (BRAIN)—Manuel Correia, head of international and OEM sales for FSA, has left the company to pursue a career in biodynamic farming.
Correia’s last day was April 15. He’s moving to the east coast to start a two-year farming apprenticeship at a biodynamic farm in either New Hampshire or New York.
“I have been learning about permaculture and gardening a lot on my own over the past four years and I think I’m ready to dive into it rubber boots and all,” Correia said in an email. He described biodynamics as a supercharged version of organically grown where the farmer is responsible for regenerating the farm’s complete health without outside input, similar to the natural cycle of the forest.
Originally trained as a baker and chef in Germany, Correia joined FSA in 2005 after spending 15 years as a pastry chef for various international hotels in Tunisia, Egypt, Malaysia, Guam and across Europe. FSA is currently hiring to fill his position.
