SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, CA (BRAIN)—From March 26 to April 26, the Merry Sales Company will donate an extra 10 percent of its net sales on Japanese manufactured products back to its Japanese partners to distribute to Japanese charities.
“We’ve been doing business with Japan since 1920, and because of this long standing relationship our Japanese suppliers are some of our closest friends,” said Jim Porter, Merry Sales’ president.
“I just returned from the Taipei Cycle show and I was able to talk with these suppliers in person. Most of our suppliers are located in Osaka which is relatively safe, but MKS and Nitto are located in the much more damaged Tokyo area,” Porter said. “But they said they only received mild damage. We also talked about the frustration I feel, as do most Americans, about finding ways to help. This program seemed to work out best.”
Merry Sales carries products from Crane Bells, Dia-Compe, DID, Honjo, Izumi, Kashimax, Minoura, MKS, Nitto, Osaka Bell, Palmy, Panaracer, Soyo, Strong Grips, Sugino, Tanaka, Tange, Tange Seiki and Yokozuna, all Japanese companies.
