Inside Triathlon Hires New Senior Editor

SAN DIEGO, CA (BRAIN)—Competitor Group, Inc has hired Jennifer Purdie as senior editor of Inside Triathlon.

Her depth of knowledge makes her a natural addition to the brilliant team of writers, photographers and editors on staff,” said Andrew R. Hersam, executive vice-president of Media at CGI. “The quality of our publication is a reflection of the incredible people behind it, and her contributions will be a prominent element in our success.”

Purdie has been featured on Fox Sports News and in publications such as Scottsdale Health Magazine and Fitness Business News discussing running and training. She has written for a variety of publications, including Running Times, Phoenix Magazine, Scottsdale Magazine, the Arizona Republic, and other industry fitness publications.

“It’s truly a privilege to write about my passion,” said Purdie. “Inside Tri goes beyond the usual storyline to uncover the secrets of the sport and provide coverage that’s truly unique. I’m excited to be a part of something so special and look forward to delivering a brand of magazine that triathlon aficionados covet.”

Previously, Purdie served as publications manager for the National Academy of Sports Medicine where she managed content for an online health and fitness publication. She also started an athletic magazine in Tempe, Arizona, The Competitor, geared toward student-athletes and coaches. She is one of a select group to have run a marathon on all seven continents and is an Ironman finisher and avid ultra marathoner. She earned her B.A. in English from the University of Washington and a Masters in education from the University of Phoenix.
