MEQUON, WI (BRAIN)—Scott Struve joined Hayes Bicycle Group earlier this week as its director of marketing and product management, a newly created position at the Wisconsin-based company.
In his new role, Struve will set the strategic marketing direction for each of the company’s brands, which include Hayes, Sun Ringlé, Wheelsmith, Answer and Manitou. He is also tasked with handling communications and product development for all the brands. Struve will work directly with each brand manager.
“They’re a great group of guys. Each has a strong tenure at the company and they live and breathe product,” Struve said. “I like the size of the company and there’s so much opportunity for growth. They’ve invested heavily on product development and we’re in the trigger position now.”
Before joining Hayes Struve worked at Cannondale for six years, most recently as global director of marketing. He’s also put in marketing stints with Burton Snowboards, Timex and Converse Footwear.
Currently based out of Connecticut, where he resides with his wife and two children, Struve plans to relocate to Mequon, Wisconsin, this summer.
“Scott has a reputation for bucking convention and getting brands noticed. His background, experience and passion for cycling are a great fit and parallel our future growth strategies. We’re looking forward to him taking our group of brands to the next level,” said Darren Campbell, vice president and general manager of Hayes Bicycle Group.
