VISTA, CA (BRAIN)—Masi Bicycles has appointed Monterey Industries as its exclusive distributor of Masi Bicycles and Brev. M parts in the UK and Ireland.
“We are very excited to announce the appointment of Monterey Industries as our distributor and to be working with Ken Knight and his very experienced team. Masi and Brev. M products will start appearing in the UK in the upcoming months," said Pete Garski, vice president of sales for Masi/ Brev. M.
Masi has enjoyed a great history in the UK over the years and consumer demand has grown recently with the increase in popularity of fixed/single speed and steel bikes. "I've been getting inquiries from consumers in the UK, as well as occasionally answering questions on various forums there, so this is very good news to me," said Tim Jackson, brand manager at Masi/ Brev. M. "With the growth of fixed/single speed and the resurgence in popularity for steel and other lifestyle bikes, we've been seeing a lot more interest in the brand coming from the UK."
Monterey Industries will be bringing in nearly the entire Masi range from entry level race, steel, fixed/single speed and carbon as well as select special models for the UK market. "We're all really looking forward to this new partnership and working with Monterey to make Masi a player in the UK market again," Garski said. UK retailers and consumers can both expect to see product arriving in 2010.
The Brev. M brand is a new parts brand dedicated to the needs of urban and fixed/single speed riders and Monterey will be the exclusive distributor for the parts. Early demand for the new line is very strong and the UK interest has been among the strongest. Brev. M is an extension of the Masi brand, but is marketed and sold independently for broader appeal within the consumer market.
