LeMond Fitness, Distributor Settle Dispute

Published August 11, 2009

SCHILLER PARK, IL (BRAIN)—LeMond Fitness and distributor Life Fitness have settled all outstanding disputes and litigation. Under the terms of the resolution, Life Fitness will continue to sell the RevMaster group exercise bike and provide service and support for customers.

Neither company would disclose further details of the settlement.

Life Fitness parent Brunswick Corp. had recently filed a civil suit in Illinois seeking damages of more than $3.9 million from LeMond Fitness. The damages were said to be compensation for complaints it had allegedly received that RevMaster Pro indoor cycles weren’t functioning properly. These quality issues, according to Life Fitness, had forced the company to terminate its distribution agreement with LeMond Fitness early.

LeMond Fitness then filed its own lawsuit in federal court seeking more than $1 million from Life Fitness as a result of the early termination.
