GOLDEN, CO (BRAIN)—Anthony Sloan, in charge of Yeti Cycles' Rocky Mountain demo program, passed away in his sleep on May 6. He was 37 years old.
"The preliminary autopsy revealed he had an enlarged heart and died from a strong arrhythmia," said Chris Conroy, co-owner of Yeti. "The doctor said his passing was likely quick and painless. He had no previous medial conditions."
As part of his job, Sloan attended festivals, dealer events and demos to help get people on Yeti bikes. He had worked at Yeti for almost two years.
"After the ride he greeted them with a cold beer and listened to them talk about the ride, the bike, and anything else they had on their mind," Conroy said. "He was a great guy. He told me this was his dream job. It allowed him to pursue all of his passions (riding, writing, photography and travel) and get paid for it.
"There are so many things I'll miss about Anthony it's hard to pick just one," Conroy added. "I always enjoyed his wit and the impish grin that followed. He saw the world in a different and completely refreshing way. I'll really miss that."
