WEST JORDAN, UT (BRAIN)—Reynolds Cycling has went through some restructuring recently as a warranty tech manager and engineer were let go.
Reynolds Cycling is a division of MacLean Quality Composites, internationally renowned manufacturer of carbon composite and alloy bicycle tubing and components.
“This restructuring was in response to several inputs through the company channels to management in an effort to refocus and re-purpose our internal resources and allow us to be more flexible and responsive to our customer focus,” said Jonathan Geran, vice president of sales and marketing at Reynolds Cycling.
According to Geran, this past November MQC restructured its three divisions: Reynolds, windsurfing and commercial products, which now no longer exists as a result.
“It was really a strategic move,” Geran said of the consolidation of divisions. “We’re focused on Reynolds and the windsurfing now.”
Reynolds has manufacturing facilities in Salt Lake City, Utah, and China, which it owns, according to Geran. Ninety percent of Reynolds product comes from China, while 10 percent—and Reynolds high-end product—is produced in Salt Lake City, he said.
“Despite the economic head wind that we are all facing in today's global economy, Reynolds Cycling is fortunate that our business model has an extremely positive outlook and the future is full of great possibilities with a terrific customer base, our unique technology in a product line that has depth and product adds value to our customers,” Geran said.
