The economy’s gotten everyone’s attention including the folks who live and work in Manhattan. But for Steve Liebowitz, a salesman at “A” Bicycle Shop in the heart of New York City, business isn’t just good—it’s also different. “It’s sort of Mad Max warrior kind of stuff right now,” he said earlier this week.
“People are bringing in all sorts of weird stuff they’ve pulled out to get fixed or rebuilt. The high end’s soft but we’re moving a lot of commuter stuff. Seems like people just want to weather the storm. Bikes are still 'green' and they’re still the most efficient transportation you can get,” Steve said.
