BAD URACH, Germany (BRAIN) — Magura and Bosch collaborated to create e-bike ABS brake components for the 2025 model year.
According to Magura, electric drives require rethinking brake technology with a study concluding that 29% of all e-bike accidents could have been avoided with a Bosch eBike ABS.
When the brake levers are fully applied, Magura ABS components, controlled electronically by the Bosch eBike ABS, reduce the braking pressure on the front wheel to prevent locking. Just like in a car, the brakes on the e-bike engage intermittently until it comes to a complete stop and steering remains controllable.
Bosch will have two models — Trail Pro and Race — with ABS Pro for mountain bike applications, while Magura is expanding its ABS lineup with compatible components. Additionally, Magura is expanding its ABS lineup with new brake rotors and sensor discs, and lever options.
Magura's aim with its ABS braking components is increased safety and control through electronically assisted braking.
