DURANGO, Colo. (BRAIN) — Active Hydration is the latest drink mix from Tailwind Nutrition, and unlike its signature product Endurance Fuel, it's designed for shorter and less intense workouts.
The new mix features electrolytes and Vitamin C and mixes clear with water. It also includes grass-fed bovine collagen peptides, which, according to Tailwind Nutrition, studies of collagen supplementation combined with exercise show promising results in improving joint function. Vitamin C is a necessary cofactor in collagen synthesis and functions as an antioxidant.
Active Hydration has been in development for two years and is lightly sweetened with cane sugar. Flavors include cherry acai, tangerine grapefruit, tropical orange, and strawberry lemonade.
It's offered in individual servings in 12-pack boxes. One 9-gram packet has 35 calories when mixed with 12-ounces of water. The 12-pack box retails for $21 and is available on TailwindNutrition.com and at various retailers beginning in late July.
