LONGMONT, Colo. (BRAIN) — Elite's new Vico bottle cage and Fly bottle were designed for lightness and durability.
The cage completes Elite's new range of Custom Race Plus bottle cages with a version made of carbon fiber composite material. It weighs 23 grams and features structural sections that vary according to the tension level applied to different areas of the bottle cage during use, ensuring high reliability and performance, the company said. The company also said the cage's shape makes it easy and safe to insert and remove the bottle. The cage's MSRP is $39.99.
The Fly bottle is a 550ml bottle that weighs just 54 grams, compared with about 80 grams for most standard bottles. It has a standard 74mm diameter for use in most cages. The new cap has an ergonomic design and is made of multiple materials, with a larger push-pull soft silicone valve for maximum ergonomics and ease of opening and closing while riding. A number of the 2017 World Tour teams will be using the Fly bottle, including BMC, Lotto Soudal, Movistar and Orica. The bottle retails for $7.99.
