Sigma's new Pure 1 computer aims for simplicity

Published June 20, 2016

ST. CHARLES, Ill. (BRAIN) — Sigma's new Pure 1 and Pure 1 ATS bike computers were designed to give cyclists the simple data they want in an easy-to-read format and a modern appearance.

"After decades of listening to our customers, 9 out of 10 just want something that is easy to read and simple to use. The most important functions to them are speed, distance, and ride time," the company said.

The Pure 1 was designed to be super thin and slim; the display extends to very close to the edge to allow large, easy-to-read numbers.

The display shows three key cycling functions at the same time: speed, distance, and ride time. A single button switches between current values and total values. After the ride, pressing the button for 3 seconds resets the data.

User set up is also designed to be quick and easy. Wheel sizes can be selected from a pre-programmed list. The only other set-up task is choosing between MPH and KPH.

The Pure 1 is a wired design, retailing for $29.99. The Pure 1 ATS is wireless and retailers for $39.99.
