AMSTERDAM (BRAIN) — Pon.Bike, owner of Cannondale, Cervelo, Santa Cruz, Gazelle and other brands, has announced plans to buy the Dutch e-bike brand Veloretti. Veloretti was founded 10 years ago and sells bikes consumer direct in Europe.
The company has about 60 employees. It said the brand will continue to operate under the leadership of founder Ferry Zonder with a focus on international growth.
Veloretti started with city and youth bikes and added urban e-bike models last year.
In a company statement translated from Dutch, Ferry Zonder said. "Now that we have Pon.Bike next to us as a powerful partner, we can scale up faster and further expand the brand in Europe. It is an important next step in our strategy and we are strengthening our position in the European e-bike market. Together we will make a difference in achieving our ambitions."
