Trek transitions to dealer direct in Poland

MADISON, WI (BRAIN) Feb 24, 16:18 MT—Trek is transitioning sales in Poland away from its long time distributor SSC to a dealer direct model, the company said Friday.

The company expects the transition to take about four months.

“Trek will begin offering a full range of products and directly servicing customers in Poland in April 2012 supported by local sales people and our global infrastructure,” said Trek’s European director, Malcolm Davies.

“We will build on the solid foundation that SSC has provided to continue developing the Trek brand in Poland and by July 2012 our intention is to add the wide range of dealer services that our customers in Europe typically enjoy.”

During the transition Trek retailers will be able to purchase product directly from Trek or SSC according to availability, Davies said.

After the transition, SSC will focus on its retail business, said SSC managing director Marek Pstrusiński.

“Trek and SSC have cooperated for over ten successful years,” Pstrusiński said. “The fact that in the future Trek will take care of distribution is the natural step for both Trek and SSC.”
