(BRAIN) — A marketplace website will offer consumers a way to buy and sell pre-owned Kitsbow Cycling Apparel. The Kitsbow Experienced Apparel website — created and operated by Treet — recently uploaded design and photo-shoot samples, and items from its gear library, including more than 50 varieties of its Icon shirts.
Kitsbow announced last week it will cease manufacturing in early April.
To list an item for sale — limited to U.S. sellers only — users must create an account and provide product photos and descriptions. After the submission is reviewed by Treet, the item is posted on the website. When the item is sold, a pre-paid shipping label is mailed to the seller. Treet charges a 15% selling fee.
Kitsbow, an employee-owned benefit corp that manufactures in Western North Carolina, is closing after failing to raise enough capital during a community financing round. The direct-to-consumer brand started in Petaluma, California, 11 years ago before moving to Old Fort in late 2019.
