CHICAGO (BRAIN) — SRAM will be offering more information on its hydraulic road brake recall and its replacement hydraulic brake products on Wednesday, but the company is saying the replacement brakes, when they become available, will not be a fix of the current design.
“We cannot assign a date to the new road hydraulic brake release. We remain very hopeful that we can get riders back on hydraulics as soon as possible. The new brake versions will be a ground-up redesign that will likely inherit some of the proven features and technologies of the original,” said Michael Zellmann, SRAM’s road PR and media manager.
The company also is still waiting on authorization from the Consumer Product Safety Commission to finalize its hydraulic road bike recall.
