Specialty outdoor retailer REI Co-op today announced that members Dr. Michael McAfee and Jim Murren have been appointed to the co-op's board of directors.
Dr. Michael McAfee is president and CEO of PolicyLink Inc., the foremost national research and advocacy institute advancing economic and social equity. Michael is a thought-leader in the area of corporate racial equity, and is developing the first comprehensive tool to guide private companies in assessing and actively promoting equity in every aspect of their business. Prior to joining PolicyLink, Michael served as a senior community planning and development representative at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
Jim Murren is a pioneer in the area of corporate responsibility and diversity. He is the former Chairman and CEO of MGM Resorts International, which was recognized as a leader in diversity and green development under his leadership. He currently serves on numerous boards, including that of Howard University. He brings sophisticated financial and business acumen based on decades of transformational leadership in consumer-focused experiences and entertainment organizations.
