Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures, Qc, Wednesday, April 20 2022- Louis Garneau Sports has just received a major patent for its ROTEXX helmet. The company has been working intensively since 2018 in research and development to make the best helmets in the world.
This year, all Louis Garneau helmets will have ROTEXX Patented Technology, from children's helmets to professional helmets.
On July 21, 2018, Louis Garneau fell on his bike and hit his head in the Portneuf region. Following his multiple injuries and a very strong concussion, Louis Garneau told the media
"I will work to make the best helmet in the world to better protect cyclists."
Louis Garneau invented the ROTEXX helmet that allows better rotational and linear absorption. This means energy absorption improvements of 12 to 19% during an impact.
This year, the company partnered with the prestigious École de technologie supérieur de Montréal (ÉTS).
Dr. Éric Wagnac is proud to partner with Louis Garneau Sports to help them make the best helmets in the world. "ÉTS is brimming with Quebec talent and professional skills and wewill work very hard to take the ROTEXX invention to the next level," says Dr. Wagnac.
Louis Garneau reports that every year many cyclists suffer head injuries and occasionally die on our roads. On April 3, 2022, his former classmate Jean-Pierre Côté died following abicycle accident that took place in Valcartier on April 7, 2021. "Let's be careful! The cycling season begins, and accidents happen especially at the beginning of the season due to poorroad conditions and the lack of visibility of cyclists," says Louis Garneau.
