After a year hiatus, RPI and Chamois Butt’r (via no-touch dispenser) are back again to celebrate gravel this September in Ketchum, Idaho.
Pleasant Valley, MO – Chamois Butt’r will host the Rebecca’s Private Idaho (RPI) #JointheRusch shakeout ride held this Saturday, September 4th in Ketchum, Idaho. Chamois Butt’r athletes Rebecca Rusch and Phil Gaimon will serve as the ride leaders and Chamois Butt’r ambassador Crystal Kovacs will host a no-drop pace on the ride. The shakeout ride will follow the Tater Tot route which is 20 miles and will last for roughly two hours. Chamois Butt’r is providing healthy breakfast options, coffee, free Chamois Butt’r minis, and socks to the first 100 riders that show up. Other Chamois Butt’r partners joining the group ride include advocacy organization RIDE GROUP and Molly Cameron, who will be on hand to talk about her advocacy work in diversity and inclusion with transgendered centered LGBTQIAS+ as well as ambassadors Kaysee Armstrong and Meg Fisher.
The Chamois Butt’r team hosted a similar no-drop ride recently at SBT GRVL where nearly 1,000 happy cyclists came out to enjoy coffee, donuts, and community. The Chamois Butt’r RPI shakeout ride will depart from the Limelight Hotel at 8 am and kick off the welcome party and Expo, which runs 10am to 5pm; while RPI staff will run two rider meetings at 12pm and 4pm, also at the Limelight.
“We work with Rebecca because she does it all,” said Steve Mathews, founder and President of Chamois Butt’r. “First and foremost, we support her as a long-distance racer that puts our products to the ultimate test. Beyond that, our relationship has expanded because of the RPI gravel event and the Be Good Foundation. We love it because it’s a perfect venue to highlight our product, but also because it is founded on the concept of giving back and getting more butts on bikes—and this aligns perfectly with our brand’s core values.”
“Whether I’m training at home in Idaho or riding for days unsupported in the Alaskan wilderness, Chamois Butt’r is essential protection that always comes with me,” said Rebecca Rusch. “Not only is their product world class, but just as importantly Chamois Butt’r is aligned with my mission to use the bicycle as a vehicle for change. To me this partnership is the essence of what it means to Be Good™.
The in-person RPI ride is sold out for 2021, however, after a successful remote covid-edition RPI in 2020, Rebecca encourages those who missed out of the in-person event, to again, ride remotely in 2021. A portion of proceeds from both the in-person event and this second annual RPI Remote will benefit the Be Good Foundation, Rebecca’s foundation with the mission of enriching communities by using the bicycle as a catalyst for healing, empowerment, and evolution.
To keep all remote riders in touch with the RPI community, join the remote event on Sunday, September 5th. For more information, visit the website here.

“We are just focusing on sharing the fun,” said Mathews. “Whether it’s the pre-ride, or at the expo with our Happy Bits tricycle, music, and our happy people giving out samples and swag, we’re here to enhance the experience.”
