Hyland's to sponsor full BWR series, field teams for the Tripel Crown of Gravel

LOS ANGELES – June 8, 2021 – Hyland's, a century-old leader in products to support a healthy, active lifestyle, today announced their official sponsorship of the Belgian Waffle Ride (BWR) series. Produced by Monuments of Cycling, the BWR series is modeled after the extremely grueling European one-day Spring Classics. The four events in the series, which take place from July through October in San Diego (CA), Asheville (NC), Cedar City (UT), and Lawrence (KS), respectively, will feature the series' hallmark of Belgian waffles and other Belgian-style foods and ales. Hyland's Powered will also field official teams for the three BWR races in the Tripel Crown of Gravel: San Diego, Asheville, and Cedar City.

The first Belgian Waffle Ride of 2021, known as the Canyon BWR or the "Hell of the West," will take place in North County San Diego on July 18. The 135-mile race route includes more than 12,000 feet of climbing and 49 miles of off-road terrain. The second and longest race in the Tripel Crown will take place on August 21 in the Blue Ridge Mountains near Asheville, North Carolina. The 140+ mile Asheville Waffle, dubbed the "Hell of the North'' (Carolina), includes 40 miles of off-road terrain and over 12,000 feet of elevation gain. The final event in the Tripel Crown of Gravel will take place on September 25 near Cedar City, Utah. Also known as the "Hell of the South" (Utah), the Cedar City BWR is a true gravel race, with nearly 80% of the 128 miles being off-road. The last event of the BWR season, the "Hell of the Midwest," will take place on October 31 in Lawrence, Kansas, and promises 8000 feet of climbing and nearly 80 miles of off-road terrain.

"The Belgian Waffle Ride is happy to have Hyland's Powered on board as our official Cramp Relief Sponsor – Hyland's is a perfect fit for the most challenging cycling event in the country. Leg Cramps products have been a race-saver for many over the last 25 years and we are excited to offer every participant a Hyland's product in their registration bags and out on the course at our aid stations," says Michael Marckx, race director and founder of the Belgian Waffle Ride series.

To support the impressive achievements of their ambassadors and athletes everywhere, Hyland's offers a wide array of recovery-focused products, including their signature Hyland's Leg Cramps tablets, Leg Cramps Ointment, Muscle Therapy Gel with Arnica, ArnicAid, ArniSport, and Bioplasma Sport.
