BOULDER, COLORADO (May 14, 2020) — The PeopleForBikes Coalition is pleased to welcome Patrick Hogan as bicycle industry research manager.
Hogan joins PeopleForBikes after four years at Southwick Associates, a market research, statistics and economics firm, where he specialized in analyzing outdoor recreation markets for state governments, private companies and trade associations. At Southwick, he used various quantitative and qualitative methods to provide insights into consumer trends, recreation patterns and opportunities for outdoor industry growth.
Hogan helped author the Outdoor Recreation Economy Report for the Outdoor Industry Association in 2016 and 2017. His undergraduate and graduate research focused on environmental and outdoor recreation economics. Hogan began his career at the Richardson Bike Mart in Texas at the age of 13 and he worked in bike service and sales throughout high school and college.
At PeopleForBikes, Hogan will lead efforts to identify and analyze bicycle industry sales trends, understand bicycle participation and perception trends and connect the dots between building great places to ride, industry growth and other economic benefits.
“Patrick’s affinity for all forms of cycling, background as an outdoor recreation economist and analytical skills are the perfect combination to provide our members valuable, actionable insights that help grow the cycling industry,” said Jenn Dice, PeopleForBikes’ COO.
“He’s joining our growing team at a time when the need for market research and intelligence is at an all-time high. We look forward to his contributions to our industry.”
