Truckee Dirt Fondo is a competitive off-road bicycle race, Expo, and festival featuring world class mixed terrain roads within Tahoe National Forest. This will be the race’s 3rd edition.

Produced by Bike Monkey, creators of Levi’s GranFondo, the event has seen massive growth in just 3 years, following the trend of the vastly popular gravel market.
Truckee’s fame as a mountain town with 100’s of miles of single track and dirt roads, makes the town an ideal base camp for what is likely to become one of the biggest gravel gatherings in the western United States.

The race will consist of three routes, taking participants as high as 8,006 feet above sea level over Sardine Peak through Tahoe National Forest. The courses are perfectly designed to maximize the potential of a gravel bike.
FAMILIES RIDE FREE
Expanding on our success of getting more people on bikes, including the little ones, Bike Monkey is taking what it created with Levi’s GranFondo and opening up our aptly-named “Rollout” route to anyone absolutely free of charge. The Rollout route allows entrants to ride 15 or 26 miles depending on their preference.
Once again, a post-race festival will feature loads of family-oriented activities, food trucks, live music and beer provided by FiftyFifty Brewing Company. Immediately following the start of the main race on Saturday, the event will feature a fun, non-competitive, fully supported kids ride along the Legacy trail system and through the Truckee Bike Park.
Truckee Dirt Fondo Introduces New E-Bike Category
The e-bike has arrived. Truckee Dirt Fondo will feature a new e-bike category. Our new experimental e-bike racing format includes optional battery drop-points and strategic battery-pit time penalty system to infuse strategic elements into the experience.
Starting in 2020, most Bike Monkey events will begin featuring special categories and considerations for e-bikes. In some cases, the actual race route will be modified for those racing e-bikes. It is our desire to offer an open arm to new brethren, but still maintain our focused on traditional human-powered bicycle racing.
