COLOGNE, Germany (BRAIN)—IFMA organizers say they plan to push ahead with incremental changes for future shows, despite disappointing attendance at this year’s show that ended Sunday.

“What the show needs is a little ‘quietness,’ so you don’t change it every year,” IFMA spokesman Karsten Deicke said.

LAS VEGAS, NV (BRAIN)-A cooling breeze and moderate temperatures made for balmy biking during Outdoor Demo this year, and the new venue’s additional paved surfaces and landscaping diminished the dust.

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CA (BRAIN)—Nielsen Media, parent company of Interbike, and the Bikes Belong Coalition, the bike industry's advocacy group for the United States, today announced a significant 10-year, multi-million dollar alliance that will boost efforts to get more Americans riding bicycles.

FRIEDRICHSHAFEN, Germany (BRAIN)—Eurobike’s first ever outdoor demo day, at Eichenberg, Austria, a venue that's a 35-minute bus ride from the main convention center, got a heavy dose of Mother Nature Wednesday as rain fell widely throughout the region.

FRIEDRICHSHAFEN, Germany (BRAIN) —Traffic clogged all roads leading to Eurobike Thursday as thousands of visitors poured into the exhibition center’s 13 halls to get a firsthand look at 2008 products. They weren’t disappointed.

FRIEDRICHSHAFEN, Germany (BRAIN)–Klaus Wellman, Messe Friedrichshafen’s chief executive officer, said Eurobike’s first day set an attendance record with more than 12,750 people packing the trade show halls. That figure was more than a 10 percent increase over last year’s opening day, which also set a record.

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CA (BRAIN)—Interbike has extended free online registration for attendees and buyers to 11:59 p.m. tomorrow, Friday, Sept. 7. The original deadline to avoid a $25 late registration fee was Friday, Aug. 31.
