KENT, WA (BRAIN)—Raleigh America, owner of Diamondback Fitness, will close Diamondback’s Camarillo, California, offices and move the operation to its facility in Kent, Washington, said Steve Meineke, Raleigh’s president.
Meineke, in an interview, said the Camarillo staff—approximately 12 people—have been notified. The transition will be completed in time for the July 17-18 Health and Fitness Business expo.
Steve Lindenau, Diamondback’s president, will leave the company April 30. He ran the unit for two years. Eric Gottesfeld, director of operations, and Greg Ford, national sales manager, will move to Washington.
The site, primarily a warehouse and distribution center, had been in Camarillo for 17 years when Diamondback Fitness was launched as part of the bicycle division. The move should be seamless for fitness and bicycle dealers. “We moved the finance, credit and IT operations to Kent in 1998,” Meineke said. Toll free numbers and email addresses remain unchanged.
This move will re-integrate the fitness unit into the bicycle division, he added. “Diamondback Fitness was founded in 1991 as a brand extension of the 30-year-old Diamondback bicycle division,” he said. Fitness dealers who travel to Denver for the July show will find a new look for the Diamondback line of fitness cycles, ellipticals, stair-steppers and treadmills.
