PORTLAND, Ore. (BRAIN) — Portland Design Works is introducing an Authorized Dealer Program aimed at limiting minimum advertised price (MAP) violations on online third-party platforms and at reinforcing the accessories brand's dealer relationships.
Authorized dealers will be required to operate a brick-and-mortar shop and adhere to PDW's MAP and online sales policies. Once authorized, dealers will be able to continue purchasing PDW products from distributors.
"PDW has had a MAP Policy for years, but without knowing precisely which dealers are purchasing our products through our distribution network it has been a constant battle to enforce," said Erik Olson, PDW co-founder and general manager. "We recognize this new approach may impact our sales numbers in the short term, but we believe that in the long term this new program will foster stronger, more sustainable partnerships with our distributor and dealer partners."
Authorized dealers will receive benefits like inclusion on PDW's online dealer locator, a "PDW Authorized Dealer" window sticker, and access to POP tools.
The program goes into effect March 7, 2017. More information can be found on the PDW website or by contacting sales manager Matt Cittadini at 503-234-7257 or at matt@ridepdw.com.
