BOULDER, Colo. (BRAIN) — Eco Brands Group, the parent of Green Guru Gear and Ecologic Designs, has acquired another recycled products manufacturer, Seattle-based Alchemy Goods.

Green Guru and Ecologic Designs have been making and selling upcycled products, including bike gear made from recycled inner tubes, to consumers and businesses for 15 years. Green Guru Gear also makes products from used climbing ropes, wetsuits, tents and event banners. Ecologic Designs works with companies and organizations that have durable materials by transforming or "upcycling" those materials into a variety of bags and accessories. Clients include Patagonia, CLIF Bar, PeopleForBikes, New Belgium Brewing, and other organizations.

Alchemy Goods (AG) has been offering similar products with a focus on the fashion and gift markets since 2004. AG has upcycled over 500,000 bike tubes and counting. Products are also made from discarded billboards that are upcycled into bags and accessories. In addition to consumer products, AG offers custom product development and manufacturing for companies like Trek, Whole Foods, and the Seattle Seahawks.

"Collectively our organization now has a larger team of people making 'upcycling' magic happen and an even larger resource for great designs, manufacturing, and marketing. This partnership will take all of these brands to the next level and continue to provide amazing eco-friendly products to a wide variety of users," the companies said.

AG will continue manufacturing in Seattle and will operate a showroom store there. the companies' operations and fulfilment are being consolidated in Boulder.

Eco Brands Group's newly expanded Boulder headquarters features the Front Range Cargo Bike shop, along with the Spoke and Wheel nano-brewery, opening in July.
