TJ's Ride on Washington is now TJ's Ride on Chicago

Published December 19, 2013

BOULDER, CO (BRAIN) — Tim Johnson’s Ride on Washington — a ride from Boston to Washington D.C. held prior to the National Bike Summit in Washington the last three years — is changing dates and destination this year.

Instead of riding to Washington in March (a dicy proposition, weather-wise, in the Northeast), this year the ride will start in Kansas City on May 28, with a finish in Chicago June 2.

The ride is led by road racing and cyclocross star Tim Johnson. Over the years the ride has raised nearly $200,000 for PeopleForBikes while increasing awareness for bike advocacy in the racing and enthusiast communities.

The full ride is invite-only but he public is invited to pedal the final miles with the group. In 2012, more than 100 riders joined the ride as it entered Washington, D.C., and finished at the Capitol.
